A passionate community organizer and human rights activist, Jessa is running as the NDP candidate for York-Simcoe MP to tackle challenges facing people in Canada and fight for a better future. After working in the financial sector as a project coordinator, Jessa graduated from York University with an Honours B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) in political science. While in school, Jessa McLean was the President of Amnesty International at York. Jessa now lives with her family at Jackson's Point.
As the gap between the wealthiest and the rest of us continues to grow, it is essential to confront rising income inequality in Canada. Jessa is a tireless advocate for economic justice in this country. She has campaigned with Fight for $15 and Fairness in York Region to advocate for liveable wages and fair workplaces in Ontario. She’s now ready to champion for the working class in Ottawa.
